D2D bullying

start work at 6.15am and at 6.40am line Manager comes up to me and says " you havent thrown a letter off yet"
I told him that I had 6 D2D's to throw off into 148 delivery addresses.
Then the DOM comes up to me 5 minutes later and says " why are you so behind" .
I said "I wasnt behind " but the DOM said "how come Joe Bloggs on that frame over there is doing his letters"
and I said " If he wants to come in unpaid 30 minutes early to do households its up to him but I'm not"
Then he walks off
Working it out , how can I throw of 6 households into 148 delivery points 888 in total (some double slots) in 15 minutes ( 900 seconds).
I know why the bullying ...............I CUT OFF

I know, I just don't understand why people come in early, you don't get paid for it and it is not appreciated by anyone, so why do it ?
I'd rather come in on time, and if I am late out the office just add it on to my overtime, if they don't pay I cut off, simples !!

One of our lino's told us that we're not to throw d2d's into frames but to work them from back of bundle. How on earth do you work with 6 lots of d2d's from back of bundle!

148 DP`s times 6D2D`s = 888items.

888 divided by 33 items per minute = 26.90 minutes to prep.

MAY I ASK WHAT RERASON IS BEING GIVEN STOPPING PEOPLE FROM THROWING D2D INTO THE FRAMES

Another point, people that do prep D2D into frame are told not to make cold calls, ie don`t go to a house if you don`t have mail for it. But I raise 2 points from that, firstly, D2D is to be treated like any other mail, and secondly, you could end up on a Saturday doing more than one fifth.

YOU HAVE A CALL RATE BUILT INTO THE IWT FOR PUTTING D2D IN
IT RANGES FRO 75% TO 86%
YOU HAVE TO DO A MINIMUM 20 % A DAY IF DOING THE D2D OVER FIVE DAYS
YOU GO TO AN ADDRESS EVEN IF ITS ONLY D2D THAT YOU HAVE

IF YOU CANT THROW IN A FIFTH OF D2D IN THE TIME ALLOCATED IN THE IWT, THEN THE IWT IS WRONG

Thanks keithposty, to be perfectly honest I`m past the point of caring anymore. I do my 20% per day whether or not I have mail for the house. I feel I`m being singled out and victimised because I have stuck my head above the parapet whilst others don`t. It`s not just D2D`s, it`s everything. Management here do what they want and get away with it and its having a detrimental effect on my life.

These are the consequences of a...hole toadies coming in early etc etc...... The Union should take much more of a high profile involvement on coming in early, like has been said many times on here they are subjecting their so called colleagues to management bullying because they are doing the job to the rules

It could have been me that wrote all of this post and I suspect the same could apply to many other posters on these forums. If you dare to raise objections to management intimidation and bullying then you are singled out as a troublemaker and even though you are right you pay the consequences of standing up for what is right. If only we had some form of protection against these bully boys such as a union who would actually do something about it. In my experience there is now very little difference between management and the union.
