speak to your line manager for a travel and subsistance form

i believe it is either 40 or 45 pence per mile

if they refuse to pay it, tell the manager he will have to make provision to get you there and back in your duty time

if you are on leave

how can you be working your week off or are you doing 1 in 4 or 1 in 6

Since you are going to the other office to do OT, nothing unless you have agreed otherwise with the manager of that office in advance. Going to do OT in another office on your week off is not the same as being sent to work in another office in your contracted hours.

Royal Mail pay 45p per mile, make sure the DOM at the office you are working at has logged it into his laptop or pc.
You will get it paid into your wages and it will show up on your wage slip.

I just might try working my week off at another DO as distant as possible so as to make a small fortune from the travelling expenses. :nana :nana

As Mr Burns of The Simpsons might say: 'I like your thinking, Smithers'.

With a bit of careful planning, a London postie could pre-book cheap flights with EasyJet and work at an Edinburgh office. One weeks wage ...

plus 400miles x 45p x 5 days = £900 travel money on your wage slip

minus cost of flights (approx £80)

minus 4 nights B&B (approx £120)

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
