Removal of pouch boxes

We will be having an outdoor revision next year with planners etc involvement. Is it true that pouch boxes are to be removed as they incur a cost to local council ? Any memo's or links appreciated.

Yep,cost to the council,we have a bloke called Reg on our patch,he dusts them down,wipes them over ect.
It like the Severn bridge,once he's done them all it's time to go around again.
They must be getting rid of him,poor sod.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

We've had our revision, two to a van etc. but it does'nt work so we still use our pouch boxes. you could'nt make it up.

Looks like removal depends on the enthusiasm of the Area or Divisional managers if some are still being used.

The council in my area would'nt allow pouch boxes to be put up. They did manage to get 2 installed a few years back both on householders land. Not that they are needed now, never heard of anyone going round cleaning them in other towns though.
