How many miles do you walk each day?

As the subject says, how much distance do you cover each day? I remember taking a pedometer out with me on a nasty duty a few years ago and it recorded 23,500 steps, which, apparently, is the equivalent of just shy of 12 miles With these fantastic new P&L duties, surely things must be worse now?

i wore a pedometer a few years back out of curiosity ,i went a little further than you ,i tried it over a week ..with not just the walk but the office clearing down deads etc i wanted to see what i covered over the 6hr day , lightest day was 16 miles including 7 miles cycling, the heaviest day was 23 miles including 7 miles cycling and 4 miles actually while in office.i am planning to do the pedometer test on p&l walk as i am the walker and my loops are clearly longer in resect of calls and distance i would have loved to have worn a pedometer today as had a new guy [a week old] and for every one of my loops i walked today ,i done a 1/4 to almost half of his loop if i hadnt we would have been out there till god knows when we were the last ones back and it was so light today ? im absolutely f*^#ed

i took my GPS receive out with me a couple of months ago and recorded 9.5 miles, partly by bike partly walking. I was quite shocked how far it was, those 500 pathways all add up

I use Endomondo app (GPS) on my phone. Its normally between 7 & 9 miles depending on how heavy it is that day.

I use "my tracks"app on my smartphone which has recorded 8.5 miles on 3 occasions. This is the most accurate way to get distance reading for your walk. Show it to your gaffer and watch him call you a liar.

A lot.. especially if you come to be told to deliver 4 bags of a cut off for 2.5 hours, then come back and do you usual supposed-to-be-3.5-hour-but-is-actually-closer-to-4-hours-with-bag-over-shoulder delivery span as well

The metre is the SI unit of distance/length. Miles is the imperial unit.

On the contrary LIKE IVE SAID IM BRITISH SO USE MILES, IF YOU WANT TO SPEAK GERMAN AND USE KILOMETERS THEN CARRY ON

Firstly, no need for the abuse and bad language towards me when I was merely having a joke.

Secondly, SI is a scientific base unit of measurement. It is actually abbreviated from the French Système international d'unités. The metre (note the correct British and not American spelling there?) is the unit of measurement for length and distance. There's no German involved when talking about kilometres.

Thirdly, I'd already said I was British and I use both metres and miles so being British has nothing to do with your personal preference for using the imperial measurement of miles rather than metric kilometres. There was therefore no need to be derogatory towards Krussel when they said they'd walked 14km or so. In "old money" that would be about 8.7 miles to you.
