Warning even though my Doctor signed me off of work as sick.

Hi all, just a quickie. Last week I was off sick for 4 days. My doctor signed me off as I had a bad infection. I went back today but have not done my 'back to work interview' yet. Basically they said when they get around to doing it, it may trigger a warning.

I know as I've only been with the company a few months I can only have a certain amount of days off, but I was genuinely unwell and the doctor said I cannot work with the infection so he signed me off and gave me a certificate and put me on a course of anti-biotics.

Do I have a case to argue against the warning (if it is triggered) or is it pretty much a formality?

Thats always possible in any job, if the business believe that the reasons for sickness was false.

However, if they follow the system fully it would be 4 absences to trigger the stage 3 which is the "sackable" stage.

I have see trialist at my place go to the full stage 1 limit and yet still get confirmed. However the confirmation is usually delayed until the stage 1 is passed.
