ENCOURAGING SIGNS FROM THE CWU

Post by Cheetah »

Now we are all knocking the CWU on here and in my opinion with much justification..... However after the "BT2010 reference and guidance" document was released and kindly posted on here http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... hp?id=6577" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , does this seem they are finally going to fight the members corner and attempt to get RM to stick to the 2010 agreement..... Lets all hope so and give them our support to get what we were promised :Very Happy :Very Happy

To late lost the support of to many members to many office already have ill planned revisions implemented.

As soon as this agreement got the vote we were doomed and so were the CWU and it was the members who doomed it.

A few words thrown at RM.. Well at least they acknowledge the shitty mess created by the very thing they recommended we vote in favour of.

As much as I'd like to support the union they sold us out (still love to know what they got paid for it!) - they need to do more than knock up a flimsy document for me to be encouraged in union top-brass and their negotiating.

I await something more substantial... :cuppa

Ditto..... I voted against the package as I strongly dissagreed with it, but we must accept the majority descision and it was voted in. What I am saying is let's hope that they have seen the error of their ways in getting into bed with RM (who couldn't even "lie" straight in bed :nana ) and at least ensure we get the good points (which yes were few) from that deal, and not just let RM keep flouting the agreement as they have from the start :speak to the hand :speak to the hand ......

Personally I cannot see how the membership were to blame, set aside those people who were just too aperthetical to vote :no no :no no . I blamed the union, they negotiated the deal and conducted an agressive campaign to get the membership to vote it in, which I strongly objected to. In my opinion it's their job to negotiate the agreement on our behalf, furnish us with all the facts and let us decide not try to influence the memers either way !!!!!!!!!

I'm not saying i'm confident just hopefull :Very Happy :Very Happy

Far far to late now, the problem was it was NOT a national agreement to much left to local agreement to many reps with no training no back up from branches or hq i feel for local reps its those who have taken a kick in from the members not hq.

they sold us out in 2007 and 2009 both times from a position of strength and massive backlogues of mail ... the union were more interested in pleasing the labour party than pleasing the people that pay their wages ... f*cking Aholes :mad

If the deal was honoured properly by Royal Mail and not twisted out of all recognition we would be in a lot better place than millions of other people in the UK. £1000 lump sum and 6.9% pay rise over 3 years, more Saturdays off etc etc The big problem, as always is that Royal Mail never stick to these agreements and try to worm a way out of it.

When an "agreement" is not honoured in the way Royal Mail has shown strike action should be called. Its the best time of year to do it. Its the only weapon we have to show our feelings about how we have been conned, cheated and lied to. :dcfo

HQ have left it too late for many of us. It is only cause BT2010 is making in roads into the London area that HQ are now making moves. As for Strike action over the Christmas period ...................too late as usual this should have been started september time. And as someone else has hinted earlier half of the workforce are cutting corner do you really expect them to strike. Whilst the half that are doing the job properly will be out on a picket line watching the strike breakers run around.

Exactly what NoSurrenderX said.In my office the management are just doing what they want.We need to act and cripple them over Christmas. We are being harassed and bullied and treated like s**t every day.We are being told we are the problem. The arse lickers are getting away with it at the moment but when the people are doing the job properly are off with stress and had enough they are going to be the target with their extended delivery. The job is impossible to do with a trolley and the size of dutys.Lets stand up.If we fall then so be it.

You were all for this deal 18 months ago NoSurrenderX...in fact you thought that anyone who couldn't see how great a deal it was must be...an imbecile. :left:
Dont try and reason with the imbeciles they cant and never will see that this is a good deal to where we were 6 months ago. Nor will they see that people all around us are losing their jobs, being forced to work less hours, no chance of a pay rise let alone a 7% one over the next 3 years and guaranteed full time employment with a shorter working week, more Saturdays off and a £1000 lump sum. All this is really wasted on these people.
Now what or who exactly has you back on the site banging the strike drum?
I'm assuming people are still losing their jobs, being forced to work less hours...you'll get your 7(6.9%) over 3 years guaranteed full time employment with a shorter working week, more Saturdays off and a £1000 lump sum.
Why the long face? :cuppa

I agree strongly with nearly all the posts on this thread. However I'm just trying to show some hope and encouragement in the hope that the union will start and do the job which we pay them for, in making sure that the deal THEY negotiated is delivered to its members, after all there's not too much in it to deliver in terms of membership benefits   ......

Up to yet they have collectively done nothing at all to ensure the delivery of the package :no no , the document in question is the first sign that they recognise the way which RM is abusing the deal and its workforce instead of just turning a blind eye. It is only a small first step, myself and most all members wait to see where they go from that document.

The union owe all its members 100 % commitment of delivery of a deal which i feel was only voted in because they told all it was a good deal and was as far as they could take RM. There were some strong words / recomendations in that document you have just released, so you union big wigs just you make sure you support us 100% when we carry out your recomendations, because if we do (which I 100% think we should as RM is not adhereing to a deal which they AGREED) there will be trouble on the horizon at offices and your support will be needed.......

I agree with a lot in these threads but notice a lot of blame is immediately targeted at union heirachy first.
Let's remember though, like some have mentioned, who always twist any agreement and who always try it on with local reps during revisions. RM!!!
Yes the heirachy are not exatly innocent but let's identify the devil in all this.
I have a 28 year sentence and have been through three or four major revisions so I have seen what RM get up to and in the middle of method's now they are trying
it on( I have four disagreements in and I have only signed off phase 0/1, which is just basic data imputs etc)
New or naaive reps, unless they have good area support, will struggle because methods is so involved!
RM the doubled headed snake!
We, however, must play our part and do the job as methods is laid down, using trolleys where stated etc and prove that their revisions are unworkable by being strong
and standing against these local bully boy managers, they're nothing believe me! Stand together!!!!
