London collections offices - Transfer

Hi

I'm currently a collections postman in East and North Yorkshire, but I am moving to London shortly after christmas.

I'm looking to transfer and I am filling in the form at present, I have to write down 5 offices of interest...

I would be grateful if someone could let me know of some collections offices in North and East London.

From a good source mate,you could have a bit of trouble.

Unfortunately there is a blockage of people transfering from outside the London Postcode districts into London. This is due to the following.

1. There are 2 mail centre closures and the mail centre is reducing its staffing levels by 54%. All mail centre staff are being peferenced over wether they wish to transfer to a delivery office.

2. That Royal Mail are only employing Fixed Term Contracts where offices have not done a intregrated walk sequencing revison and no office in South East London and South West London have done such a revison.

3. That there are 130 fixed term contract staff who have done over 2 years and are due to get a permanent contract once an intregrated revison comes into offices where there will still be vacancies following the intregrated revision. The reason why there will still be vacancies is that Royal Mail in London have not recurited to permanent contracts for close on 3 years.

i work on deliveries but i will find out the offices you need for distribution work there are changes for london
but you hear something different each day.
n.12 north finchley and n.21 winchmore hill are distribution offices but dont know how long for.
n.w london and east london have distribution offices i think they run into there m.l.o,s
it may be handy to let us know what part of london you are moving to then i will know what the best offices are.

put in your transfer but i think it is better if you contact the o/c at the distribution office nearest to where your going.

I should think it will be N15 to start with.

I don't know how it works in London, do delivery offices also do collection? I am based at Malton HUB at present and we have taken over collection for a lot of delivery offices.
