Mail Flow & revision Process

Dear DOM,

Having perused and observed your “mail flow and 6 step process”, may I point out that I am deeply disappointed on how the business not only makes mistakes in the past but continues to make the same ones?
Here are my current findings:

• The frames designed and designated are only to the figure of 53. Mr Lead Planner pointed out that”...this is an average of walks due to your absorption level”.

May I point out the following from the “Business Transformation joint agreement?

Work measurement Standards
“Planning for operational change in delivery units will be done using national planning and measurement systems, and revision tools to ensure that workload is assessed and applied accurately, is fair and manageable” .

On questioning Mr Lead Planner on the amount of frames presented, he held “his finger to the wind” in regards to the average of walks required. We do not find this method of workload measurement acceptable.

On questioning Mr DSM on his suggestion of “no run-arounds”, may I also quote the Business transformation agreement?

“Royal Mail & the CWU accept that the mail market is changing affecting the nature of the mail mix/traffic streams”

To discount our local knowledge, (and also national knowledge), we regard as quite dismissive. However if you require the need to drive through change based on budget, please do so BUT without any CWU involvement.

Please also regard your revision without the major stakeholder, (CWU). Please also regard the P.I.R. process as exhausted or perhaps not invented.

I enclose the current offices not working, (and I suspect the same “hold my finger to the wind” measurements), in which revisions are not working was performed:

The above offices where audited totally independently via the office CWU representatives. May I suggest we take the opportunity to change the status quo?

Please regard this letter as stage one of the I.R framework?

Please also note that the comments regularly raised to me of “You are released indefinitely” I regard as slightly derogatory and dismissive of the business’s major stakeholder, (CWU).

More importantly nothing has been mentioned of a collections best practice revision? To promote “robust” and “inventive” duty structure, I would suggest this be placed on the P.I.R process or perhaps now?

I look forward to a stage one meeting with the relevant parties within 7 days?

Kind regards
