Whilst waiting to collect from the counter from a rural post office a customer told me that she was sending packets to relations in London for Christmas now.
She then said that she has to send them now because if she sends them nearer the Christmas period they get returned as "Address unknown" despite the fact that all the rest of the year any packets sent to the addresses get delivered no problem.
She worked this one out after returned packets two Christmases in a row and now has no problem if the packets are sent earlier,,, What's the problem ?, casuals ?.

did she write flat number cuz some just write name and house number.getting returned as address unknown may not always be the same cuz its just a gone away item. but during xmas its crazy and has more chances of being RTS. yes fair chances are it may be casuals also.

no problems with london just another lying customer.
we have complaints every day list of names and address about parcels/packets not being delivered
yet when you go round there house there as nice as pie to your face.
its the way it is nowdays. something for nothing merchants just lying for compensation.

Been happening for a while in some parts of London including my Office.
What tends to happen is we have a lot of multiple occupancy addresses and names are not displayed on the intercoms and flat numbers are not displayed on the packets or items.
We used to post 739's through stating flat number required but when the customer requested a re-delivery they neglected to give the full address including the flat number or what bell to press so we were back to square one, hence another 739 and loads of complaints.
So following instructions from management, no 739 is to be left and the item marked as insufficient address and returned to sender.

I dunno mate, was she sure that she had the right address, during the year we are not as snowed under like we are at Chrimbo, and have more time to trace incorrectly addressed items that might have the wrong number, place, street or close or even the postcode.
