End of three month contract

My three month contract runs out this week, and the DOM told me that, I dont need to sign another one they will just extend it automatically. Just wondering where that leaves me legally. I mean, since I never signed a new contract, do I not need to give notice if by some chance I find another job ?, likewise for what RM stipulates in their contract, does that have no weight to it now either, so it is now not worth the paper it's wrote on ?

You will be ok as Royal Mail will need staff to deal with Christmas. Unless there is so many problems with you, you should be fine. It will continue for another 9 months and then permanent. Don't worry too much about it. But you should keep eye open for something else just in case.

call the HR number on ur payslip and she will send u a new contact.

even on signed contract its 1week notice from ur side and 2 weeks notice from RM's side if u leave/fired.

I have been on the job for 7 months now and i have had mine renewed twice.On both occasions the new contract you have to sign and return have turned up about a week after the old contract has run out so i would not worry too much

''PERMANENT'' forget that word. u will be kept on rolling contract atleast for 4 yrs. once u become permanent u get a better bargaining powerto rebel and managers dun want that when slaves can be kept in better control on a rolling contract
