Door to door FAQ's

Post by POSTWOMAN »

Can someone enlighten me on these questions below :

What's PBS/Ics supplement ?

How d2d is calculated and paid with respect to differ contract hrs ?

Finally, in my office we dun do d2d on Saturday ? But last week I was sent to different d.o where I delivered d2d on Saturday ? So, my question is ---- as in my office - I had been doing d2d 5days but last week I did six days -- how come the d2d payment is same. As am doing d2d 6 days instead 5 - I should be paid more.

Finally is there a new rule now that u have do d2d on Saturdays ?

Nothing to do with D2Ds - they are a hangover from various bonus schemes.

The Delivery Supplement is set then paid out pro rata to your hours. If you pay for leave this has an effect as well. D2D payment no longer exists - you don't get paid separately for delivering them any more.

D2Ds used to be 5 days a week, but the 2010 agreement bought it that Saturday would be a normal working day - therefore D2Ds can be delivered on Saturdays and some units plan it that way. The D2D payment is the same, if we don't get paid for delivering them during the week then its the same rate of Saturday - nowt.

No - The rule AFAIK is that they ALL have to be delivered though so if they are any left over on Saturday then they still should be delivered.

thanks very much for the answers.

1) can you put more details how d2d is set/paid out to pro-rata hrs ?

2) lets say if any d2d is left - then they can fill all the columns of the frame and u have to deliver it as its saturday ?

1)so now i understand -- i should forget the word d2d as its treated as normal mail.

2) am speechless - now rm is taking screwing to new levels.

on the side note, mail volumes falling is all bullsh*t cuz i never heard media talking about rising volumes of packets and d2d.

Are you sure you have to take a full weeks d2d on a saturday!!! In our office our frame is put into columns, on a normal frame it has 5 columns some have an extra wing which creates 6 columns, Each column has a colour, each colour represents a day of the week. So the first column is delivered Monday, the second delivered on a Tuesday etc. If you have 5 columns the last column is split in half for a Fri and a Sat. Our argument was if there was a bank holiday then we shouldn't have to take Mondays 2d2 but higher management said we had to so we deliver Mon and Tues columns the same day. Otherwise you you only deliver the d2d for which ever day it is, with this in mind you don't deliver a full weeks worth in one day. Hope this made sense.

Bottom line, you should have ONLY been taking 20% out, the other 80% should have been taken out during the week, 20% a day.

Why are the guidelines not being adhered to, and how come someone has not taken out any D2D's and being paid the same as you?

you've been mugged.

Ideally that is how it works. However if for whaever reason the D2D for the previous day or days have not been done and your manager tells you to do them and you have time within your duty then you have to do them. The only argument you have against doing them as lack of time (if this is the case). It is no different to any other mail. If you go on a walk and mail has been left from previous day you can't refuse to take it because it is yesterdays mail can you? D2D is exactly the same.

i know what u saying is common sense but u may also come across situation like i had. as u can read from comments 20% or 1/6th for frame or 1/5th for a postie can no longer valid in #####all cases#### unless ur concern is time. am not saying it happens everday but someone gonna be victimised when there a leftover d2ds. as per new rules u have to deliver them on saturday just as normal letters.

samething for u - weirdo

yes in my case last week the dom had already sent the bags & i realised when i saw them in boxes on the walk. so there was no scope for me to calculate if am gonna be late. plus i was not informed by dom that am gonna do all d2ds.
