how does seniority work
hi can someone shed some light on how seniority works please how do you move up the list.
I would walk 500 miles

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

im great postman doing really well been moved on to a 32 hour duty and going to put in for it as its coming vacant after xmas.

We have a list on the wall in the dom's office, they should be able to print it off if you ask. Your rep should have a list as well.

In these days of evermore equality 'seniority' is having less and less impact. As already pointed out your Delivery Office Manager will be be able to print a list of staff in seniority order, inclusive of whether part-time or full-time. More often than not it is used as a 'tie-breaker' for any situations which warrant its use. In time-honoured fashion, the main use of seniority is in having greater choice of duties to sign for during a re-sign.

You move up the seniority list the longer you are there. Except when people move to your office thinking the grass is greener, then you move back down the list whilst they sign you out of any decent walks!

Doesn't mean you wont get the duty though,depends if anyone else goes for it.
