extra break when doing overtime?

does anyone know if you get a longer break (paid for) if you start earlier on overtime or do you just get paid for the extra hrs you have agreed to do?

i can give you an example.

a full timer (39hr) throws off 2 walks in the morning and takes 1 out. His hrs are 6.30 - 2.30 with a 40min break. (thats 8hrs pay)

a part timer (30hr) throws off 1 walk off and takes it out. they start at 8.20 - 2.30 with a 20 min break.

the 30hr gets asked to come in early and throw another walk off. DOM say its 1.12mins pay to throw a walk off. this would mean 30hr would get paid 7.12mins for doing the same work as a full timer who would get 8hrs!!!!1

is this right?

Conditioned attendances extended by overtime (or by SA on Sunday) consecutive with the beginning or end will attract additional breaks if the entitlement for the total attendance (overtime plus conditioned hours), in the table above, is greater than the breaks already scheduled during the conditioned attendance. For example, an 8 hour conditioned attendance with 4 hours overtime would attract an extra 20 minutes (i.e. 60 minus 40). In most cases, particularly if the additional break is for only 10 minutes, it should be taken between the period of overtime and the normal conditioned attendance.

Breaks depend on the hours worked per day. Go to downloads and you should find a chart.

If you work 30 hrs a week, that is 6 hours, 5 days a week, your break is 30 minutes, not 20.

Of course it's not right, but if you agree to it then he's laughing all the way to the saving hours bank, stand your ground and ask for 2 hours, if he doesn't agree then don't do it, simples!

im with you on this one....

but all they keep coming back with is... if you dont do it, i will get someone who will (basically someone who isnt as clued up/doesn't speak up)

and i know you will say..... let them mugs do it..... but whos going to pay my bills????
