Never signed a van out-What punishment?

Somehow between the locker man and myself I never signed for a van i used for a collection.
What brought the matter to light was i was involved in an accident(not my fault).
I haven't been officially 'questioned' yet about it but,my union rep said that it has been talked about in a meeting he was in.
He also helpfully said that R.M are looking to 'get rid' of people for any reason,very good of him to say that i thought!
I was wondering what would be the worse that could happen? Also would the locker man,me, or both of us be more or equally at fault?

I'd say the worst that can happen is you're taken off driving for a while. We've had vans damaged; no-one sacked, just kicked off driving.

if you have had an accident have you filled out a report with your o/c
it does not matter if it is only a slight accident always do a report.
as for your keys sheets should be out every day to sign for your keys
this is down to your o/c no one else, if you have an office audit and
that there is no paper work on vehicles at your office your o/c will
finished in royal mail.

have you had the procedur propely explained to you?
or is it because you and the locker man just couldn't be bothered?
if its the former then you should be ok.
if its the 2nd one then a small bollocking is in order for the both of you.

It was just one of those things that happen from time to time youwot!!!!!
The locker man was busy on the phone/dealing with customers on his own,he gave me the key and log book but not the sheet to sign as it was buried under a load of returned items.I said i'd come back in a minute but completely forgot!

The 'locker man' is RESPONSIBLE for ensuring that he receives a signature before letting you take the key.

Surely you would have completed the logbook entry and if you did then it would surely have who had the van out.

That's what I'd have thought but I know that the collection boys don't bother either signing the keys out or filling in the log books............could be a reason that my keys seem to go missing

i was injured on duty yet according to them its a wilfull delay gross misconduct dissmissal for me

If we don't sign for or down load our tacho cards every day, the shift manager (SM)comes looking for us. VOSA says cards must be down loaded every 28 days, even though its going to be well before the 28 day time limit, Royal Mail say its got to be everyday and when I ask why, the SM doest really know, he goes on about figures and facts bla bla bla royal mail require

If we don't sign for the van, we normally get told about it and told if it continues further action will be taken
