1 p m is about the earliest you might finish on a sat, last sat i had one long serving postie say cant believe im just going out wasnt all that long ago i would just be coming back it was after 10 am

We have had 1.30 finishes on sat for years mate!!
The six day week and early finish on Sat was ruined by tossers making a mockery of afternoon deliveries and knocking off early,promoted by RM, who then made a target of this for savings!!
Result, SDD agreement,5 day week, dedicated duties!
Don't always blame the union, for we are all the union,blame ourselves because we are our own worst enemies!!
The union is about standing up together for our rights but there seems to be many self centered people out there im afraid!

I will blame the CWU.
The CWU put up no fight whatsoever to the Royal Mail's vindictive proposal to make our Saturdays utter crap. Not so much as a squeek. Just shrugged their shoulders and said the troops wouldn't be happy.

We are supposed to finish at 13.30 on a Saturday,never do lucky if we get back and done by 14.30,that's without a revision.

Are you part time? Our P/T staff start at that time but due to the large area we cover if we started at that time we would never clear the delivery's and would fail the uso,oh we do that already,don't know what will happen when they bring in the new way of working,we have escaped so far,managed to put it to the wall, temporary reprieve only.

It's a 7am-3:25pm Saturdays i'm afraid.Except for the 1 in 4 Sat off.That's the times the 1st batch of park and loop deliveries in my office have been finishing.
And yes they are not working just like the rest of the country,so only 4-5 loops being completed out of 6.Plenty of work either brought back or delivered by people on overtime.Yes starburst i thought that idea was buried! I did leave the Union after the last agreement as i'm disgusted by their lack of leadership and ability to actually represent their members.I have to say it was'nt an easy thing for me to leave as i've been a member for over 25 years but honestly i cannot justify supporting the union.I know people will lambast me for taking this option but to be honest i have started to retrain and am in the process of looking for a more family friendly job.When you bring back 20-30 packets ,tracked and specials back to the office on a saturday because shock horror the public are actually out doing what most people do on saturdays then you will start to realise like the guys in ireland have seen this way of working is a folly and will never work....ever! Rant over!
