What I have noticed this year is the post comes between 2-3PM
last year it use to come at 10:30am ish
what has changed is it this park and loop system? what is this park and loop anyways

Moved to 2010 forum,and yes it's park n loop.
2 posties in one van who do everything,mail,the registered items,the packets ect,well they try to.
They park the van and do loops of a walk,go back to the van and carry on.
They use trolleys which slows the process down.

To be honest it's not a silly set up,it just doesn't save any money for the business at all hence it being so fecked everywhere....cause they are desperate for savings.

The lateness of the post is mostly due to the introduction of new sorting machinery that does away with people but doesn't do it as quickly as them.
This is called modernisation. It saves money (?) but doesn't produce what people think of as a better service.

RM Logic: need savings, lets buy thousands of new vans, and pay for thousands of pounds worth of petrol every week. Any staffing savings must have been eaten up in the acquistion and maintenece of the extended vehicle fleet. I would like to know figures for this actually.
