Please tell me that they did not actually print that.

As I understand it Direct Mail is not D2Ds

Direct Mail is as the name suggests Mail that goes direct to your targeted customers even the DM association describe it as
Direct Mail

Definition: A marketing effort that uses a mail service to deliver a promotional printed piece to your target audience
D2D is unaddressed mail not direct mail

...and it's not an allowance...it's a supplement.
...and it's not for delivering...anything.
...and it doesn't pay an equal amount to all.
The website is shiny though. :cuppa

Vocal minority if thats the view point of BG thats fine nowt wrong with being honest about ones belief/postion. Im all for wage equality in the D.O but I not confident that CWU HQ have won the majority of CWU mbrs at my D.O over with the way that has been achived  . At least another tenner and maybe they would have a good chance

However the wording of that statement certainly has room for improvement as pointed out by fishtank and TBT.

So what would peoples views now be if a very senior manager or managers have come to a conclusion that the BTA deal which secured a delivery supplement in return for door to door going into work load has failed and that the product was not growing ?

In addition that very few offices were starting at prior to 0500 and before 05;30 and the early morning shift allowances were all but redundant.

In this case what would people want as you may be closer to the truth then you realise. By the way going back to before is a non starter

My view...are they surprised?
Moving D2D into workload has been managed in such a poor way you would have thought it was a deliberate attempt to sabotage the product.
Of course vague guidelines that say this is how it should be done but it's ok if you don't want to haven't helped.

Our office D2D's were 90-95%+ delivered week in, week out

Other areas ( inc. London ) were as low as 40%

Thats why RM got their way and got rid of the payment per item because delivery was so patchy.

Maybe if some employee' s had delivered them properly, then we wouldn't have lost the payment per item

INSTEAD we have now got £20 however many we deliver

Now thats a fair system - NOT

( PS --- RM will allow you time to prep them too, as they are now part of workload ;liar YEAH RIGHT )

We've done the D2D thing to death, although not saying it can't be done some more, not my place to stop it anyway.

The point is CWU HQ have this impression that only a minority have the hump about it. :cuppa

God I need another wee.

The fact that they think that it is a minority issue says it all,

And that is why they fail.

Crikey!
It's starting to look like the CWU holds it's members in as much contempt, as the vermin senior execs do in Royal Mail.

Is somebody telling lies...?

Latest update http://www.cwu.org/unaddressed-mail-quo ... -quot.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Figures for the past 12 months show a rise in unadressed mail volumes from 2.8 billion to 3.2bn - up 14 per cent. And projections for the coming year predict a further 16 per cent increase - up to 3.7bn.
The growth of this activity is protecting jobs and counterbalancing decline in some other areas providing further proof that this was very much the right step to take.

The amount we get for D2D is only about £7.50 as there is an early morning allowance included from before the last "deal" of about £12.50 !

We can't change what's happened and it is what it is.

However, you have to accept that the coms over the D2D payment/Delivery Supplement and loss of shift allowance was not the best.

Also that as most on here suspected the "into workload" did not actually happen, all local mangers did was reduce the call rate for each walk in their planning - and then increased it back to its original level by including D2D in the workload.

So for Royal Mail - it was included in the workload. For us - it wasn't they just tweaked the numbers - and apparently as it was all on paper it was quite ok. :mad

I think a lot of the frustration on here is not caused entirely by getting less money - but mostly by the way it was handled. Everyone remembers the "Winners and Losers" issue.
