Am due to go on paternity leave on the 21/11/11, but according to the manager today, the first week is fine but the 2nd week is at her discretion? Since May 2011 the union agreed paternity leave is now 2 full weeks paid leave instead of the previous one full week & 2nd at half pay.
Is it definite that she can make me take the 2nd week at her discretion? Its the first I have heard of the matter.

We get 2 weeks(and that is only recently)the others get....how does that work.

Your basic right is TWO weeks leave. YOU decide if you want to take the 2 weeks or just the one, but they must be consecutive weeks, you can apply for more than 2 weeks but i don't know if you get paid for any additional weeks or not, you'll need to sift through the information from the above link yourself.
