six hour saturday S.A.

Hi need some help.We are a small delivery office(160 staff).We work Monday to Friday and saturday working is covered by S.A. Each postman has signed for his walk on a saturday getting Six hours S.A.Next week we have a postman working Monday,andTuesday.(Wednesday,Thursday and Friday off on leave "odd days")Now today that postperson has been told by The Manager,Not to come in Saturday to do the six hour S.A.Can you be stopped doing your S.A.?

I didn't think they still did that, I can barely manage my delivery 5 days a week let alone managing to get it done in 6 hours on a Saturday.

As for being off, you don't do SA when off on leave so why does he think he can now? Take the extra break and enjoy it (I really don't get some people who are so desperate for money that they'll work the 2 minute silence to get some).

If you have a SA then you have signed a contract to carry out that overtime. I'm pretty sure that to remove that SA they must give a period of notice. 2 weeks springs to mind???

Oh, and by the way 160 staff would be considered quite a big office

cancellation of sa is 28 days notice with reason why noted, other ruling is you cannot resume from leave to overtime but sa is different. sa is contracted if its signed for under contract normally 6 months in advance under i think way forward national aggreement.

Would he have had to get the SA covered if he only had the Fri off?
If not,what has Wed/Thur got to do with it then?
Then again,what has Mon-Fri got to do with it as well?
Am i confusing things.

Well done you lot, Manager has backed down or should we say the Dom has backed down.Believe it wasnt the Managers idea.Every Morning All five Managers have a behind the Door talk with the Dom,this one back fired!!!!! This wasnt money driven,but principle.
