Xmas Casuals in Do

Official I understand Xmas casuals will not be used in Delivery offices.
So does that mean they will be used.

The only way I can see RM getting through Peak is by getting casuals in delvery offices,or of course RM have a arrangement with God and can arrange snow like last year.

Most offices have staff shortages ,can bareley cope at the minute let alone at peak

when I started at RM the Christmas pressure was something most delivery posties did
last 2 years those wanting it had to go to the MC as there were not enough interested in the DO to make it worthwhile

My first Xmas we'd be asked to do 'Row 15' sorting at the DO after delivery, Xmas before last we were asked if we wanted a week of fulltime nightshift at a mailcentre overspill warehouse.

We never had casuals in our office last year.On days when there wasn't enough staff to cover a walk.3 casuals would appear from the mail center, and would take out a 1/3 rd of a walk each.After they had finished their walk they had to go back to the mail center to finish their shift.

we had 3 MC guys sent down last year (not casuals,FT staff)
not one managed to complete a walk even though they had until 4pm apparently

We have about a dozen vacant duties in my office (approx 50 walks), no staff willing to cover them on OT, whole walks left in, every day at least 2 walks don't go out. They had to pay one guy an extra 7 hours just to complete his delivery as it hadn't gone out the day before and he was going to pull every single item out of the frame before starting to throw off. We need staff, right now. Never mind Christmas. Oh and our revision is meant to start in Feb.

We have about 21 gaps in our staff,we have part time staff covering some bits we have taken in staff from closing MC but have gone back as they find delivery work alittle over the top or not what they thought it was going to be,some thought it was still the same as 15 years ago so it is abit of a shock so they decided to go back,we have had casuals but most leave one chap said after 1 day i am not putting up with that i am off never saw him again,we have no casuals coming this Christmas we borrowed some last year but it was defiantly not to be repeated. So we have none this year!
