... what do you call a person who collects P739s ?? I've now got seven different ones from my "neck of the woods" all with different collection points on the back.

On a more serious note - how dangerous is it to maybe "drop/lose" a blank P739 - are there any rules/regs regarding safety of blank P739s - cus I've got loads ...

We once had a woman come in to the callers office with a poorly filled out 739 card.Over the next few days lots of people searched through all the packets, Recorded items, Specials etc but nobody could find her packet and nobody recognised the handwriting so we couldn't ask any posties. We had a lot of casuals and people borrowed in from other offices etc around this time.
Eventually the old dear admitted she had asked a postie for a card and filled it in herself as she usually got something from her sister at that time of year and it hadn't arrived yet

The amount of postage paid and Royal Mail product used
Where and when the item was posted
Item reference number (Recorded Signed For™ Special Delivery™ items only)
Description of the contents (not required for delay claims)

For compensation, you must also provide:

Original proof of posting, e.g. Post Office® receipt (certificate
recipient of posting), On-Linepostage receipt (stamped at Post Office®) or copy of Docket Book
Original proof of value if claiming for the contents, e.g. till receipt, bank statement, etc. (see section 8 for more details)
The damaged item and packaging* (for damage claims only where safe to do so - see note below)

So they turn up with a card,the locker wastes some time looking for a non-existent packet...they are pointed towards a claim form and they hit a brick wall.
