How many "hours" on red notice left card?

In your office how many "hours" delivery officer write on red notice left card? In our office we have started 24 hrs or NEXT DAY for packets ,trackers and recorded but same day collection available for SPECIALS.( It was getting nightmare between 1pm and 5pm when we have couple of hundred items left to be put on computer and customer comes in Callers Office for same day notice left item).

It depends on when the item will be available for collection. There is no set time covering the whole office.

If I'm at the end of my walk, and I'm going back to the office and not pouching off, I'll put 1 hour or whatever. I've put ten minutes before as it was my last call and I was going straight back to the office.

On another walk on a Saturday morning on a bank holiday weekend, I just put 'Tuesday' as I was pouching off, and fairly confident that it would be picked up by the driver that afternoon.

I think you may be pulled up for this at some level.
Royal Mail are pushing same day collection as one of their next big things.
It's one of the reasons that revisions are planned around everyone returning to the D.O.
Don't be surprised if your DOM comes off a conference call with a red face and a plan B.

in our small DO we nearly all put 24 hours as our callers office is only open 8am - 1pm mon - fri and 9am - 12pm on sats

unless the walk is right next to the DO there is no chance of a packet getting back before the callers office is closed

Huddersfield DO covers a vast area as we are the 10th largest town in the UK, so we finish on the street. Because of his we pouch off and it all goes back to the Mail Centre, which is closing soon.

Even some of the managers don't expect it here. We would need approximately 100 extra vehicles and if you type HD1 1AA into Google Maps you'll see the reason why.

However, I do expect it and think we will have to return all items - but you can see the problems.

Packets can be picked up as soon as we return them to the office, always the same day but then, we ALL return to the office and our callers is open until the office closes from the collections.

In our office about 250 items come back every day ... all have to be logged on computer between 1 and 6 pm ( during this time stream of customers keep coming ) so its was just impossible to get one out of so many unlogged ones). Now we do 24 hours or nex day but same day for specials.
