Had a call today about a telephone interview with atos due to my being on the sick for 3 weeks. Any one else had one and if so what can i expect?

they are not medical trained, only health care workers

They can ask you to go back onto light duties, just say you would rather follow your doctor's advice, after all he's medically trained :)

So you think that a phone diagnosis from an atos representative will hold more creed than a physical diagnosis from your GP ?
Give the surgery details to atos and let them try and chase it up. All you have to do is stick to your guns, and do as your own Dr advises

ask the phone drone what medical qualifications they have

i can promise you that you will be surprised

If ATOS tells you that you have to go back on light duties and you feel you can't,go back to your doc,explain and get a letter from him for your manager.

If you have been to the doctor and been signed off, you should not go to work, whatever ATOS say.

If your GP thought you were fit for some sort of work, he would have given you a so-called 'fit note', and your DOM would be obliged to find you some light duties. If your GP has signed you off, he's in effect saying you are not well enough to perform ANY work, so don't let ATOS bully you back to work.

If you do go back under duress from ATOS, and then go off sick a second time, those feckers will have caused you to rack up 2 absences towards possible dismissal

I think he might be saying that a lot of GP's are completely incompetent twats. For instance, my GP has lost three patients in the last week by misdiagnosing cellulitis - blood poisoning and dead

I had continuing Fit Notes - Not fit for work that continued after a face to face with an ATOS medical person who said I was fit for work, still go the sack though!
