anyone know the answer to this then?
apparantley the leave consists of 10 working days, not 2 weeks is this correct?
i went on leave thurs 13th oct
now am being told im due back today when i was expecting to go back tomorrow.
they say ive had 10 days as i had my day off the first week
so i had 3 days first week
5 days second week
so 2 days this week
any opinions would be very helpful

Paternity Leave Entitlements
This depends on how long you have worked for Royal Mail Group prior to the commencement of your Paternity Leave. Where you are eligible it is to be taken as either one or two consecutive weeks. Paternity leave cannot be split up into odd days or taken as separate weeks.
Over 1 Year’s Service on the date of your child’s birth
If you have worked for us for over a year you will be entitled to 2 weeks’ Paternity Leave. For pay purposes this will be taken as 1 weeks’ full basic pay, followed by 1 week’s Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP). Royal Mail UK/LS will pay you (SPP) on behalf of the Government. SPP is payable where your average earnings are at or above the Lower Earnings Limit for National Insurance purposes. The rate for SPP is the same as Statutory Maternity Pay (£106.00 per week from 6 April 2005 and normally reviewed annually).
Less than 1 year’s service
If you have less than one year’s service at the date your baby is due then you will not be eligible for full basic pay but you may still be entitled to Statutory Paternity Leave Statutory Paternity Pay.
If you have worked for Royal Mail Group for more than 26 weeks at the 15th week before the expected date that your baby is due to be born and you continue working until the date the baby is due you will be eligible for Statutory Paternity Leave. If your average earnings are at or above the Lower Earnings Limit for National Insurance purposes then you will also be eligible for Statutory Paternity Pay.
If you do not qualify for Statutory Paternity Pay from Royal Mail, the People & Organisation Development Services Team will notify you of this by sending a form SPP1 I cannot pay you Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP).

1 That you have or expect to have responsibility for the baby’s upbringing and that you are either or both.
The biological father of the baby The mother’s husband or partner1

From the 15th week before the baby is due up to the date of birth.

That you take the leave within 3 months of the date the baby is born.

yeah thats how they say it works now as we have 6 day and 5 day weeks all i no is that i had the full too weeks off

i had paternity leave in my last job,,,that was 2 weeks,,,,and the 2 weeks were from the day i went off,,,,,,,i kept it till the mrs was coming home from hospital,,,,so i had 2 weeks from a sunday,,,,,each week consisting of 5 working days.
so i always read into it or believed even though they say 2 weeks,,,its 2 weeks of work and not 14 days,,,,,mmm im even confusing meself LOL
so i did a job same as this 5 working days a week so if id have gone off on a thurs id have to come back on a weds 2 weeks later.... so i reckon there right.
pity when i had the 2 weeks you got just over a £100 each week....things have changed in 7 years
