Yes - one of the guys at my place was IHR when working light duties. He was even doing small amounts of delivery work but even he agreed he could not continue doing deliveries until he retired.

"iam not on light dutys but iam under dda"
You need to contact your disability champion in your area, if not area rep so they find out who the disability champion is.
Do not attend any meetings on your own, I am under the same thing, but not yet being told i have to go under IHR
Good Luck

Re: ihr
In answer to the original question, yes. I was one of the rare cases who wasn't sick with illness. Even worked overtime on my last week. However there was no job for me
Makes you wonder doesn't it. The question you have to ask, can you do your duty ? Are you struggling to do your duty? Would you be able to do another job?

No it doesn't...it normally is but it doesn't have to be.gerardy wrote:
Also I am near sure that the IHR has to be agreed with you.
Following the receipt of the OHS advice, the line manager will consider what action to take, in line with the professional advice. He/she will discuss with the employee the advice received and give the employee the opportunity to respond. The outcome of this review will be either:
a) an agreed date for a return to work, with a temporary or permanent adjustment to duties if appropriate
b) a decision to seek alternative work elsewhere in Royal Mail Group and the actions proposed to address this
c) a decision to progress ‘Retirement on ill health grounds with lump sum payment’.
d) a decision to progress ‘Retirement on ill health grounds with immediate pension’.
The responsibility for making the decision based on the advice/recommendation from the OHS rests with Line Management. The Authority Levels contained in the appropriate Conduct Code for dismissal apply.
Where a decision to retire on ill health grounds with an immediate pension or lump sum payment is made this will be confirmed in writing. This confirmation will include the proposed last day of service and a summary of the reasons and basis for the decision, together with details of the proposed financial arrangements provided by the HR Services.
There is an appeals process though.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
