Staff working in other offices
We have 2 or 3 guys working in other offices. We also have an unusually large number of sick absences at the moment meaning that a lot of o/t is being paid out to cover duties. Our dom seems quite happy to pay this rather than bring guys back from other offices. I'm guessing that this must be better for his budget but I'd be interested in knowing how it works. Anybody got any figures?

If the staff he is loaning out have contracted hours greater than he is paying out in OT for covering their jobs then he will make a saving. So say a FT postie is loaned out, your office will get 8 hours back. He then pays out 4-6hrs on OT to cover the delivery saving 2-4hrs.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
