Message to the CWU cheifs

We have just had our latest revision ,I should say this only affects the walking Postmen, The factory men still enjoy a way life unchanged for decades despite numerous revisions affecting walking Postmen,but that is another debate.

Our rounds now most of the time can be done ,but only just.Every one you talk to is tired ,fed up ,body aches ,legs really ache,
many many people with leg problems,including many under a specialist.

The message to the CWU CHEIFS WE PHYSICALY CANNOT DO ANYMORE
Regardless of what the Computer says ,volume of mail ,this weeks bonus ,this weeks special deal we physicaly cannot do any more
than we are doing now.

Any idiot can sit in a office and say the rounds should be 12 hours long no problem,make them 24 hours long say with 3000 houses on, no problem ,you can do it ,it will do you good but just as long as it does not affect me .

In our office wich was considred by many to be a militant office,I dont think we will ever dare go on strike again, we dare not .You never no what the deal the CWU cheifs will come up with.

The last strike our office was 100% out and we would have staid out ,we were led to beleive wich all of us suppourted was it was not about PAY it was terms and conditions,bigger rounds asbortion etc.

All the problems we have now we went on strike against ,bigger walks ,asbortion.
We must be the only Union in the Country to go on strike for worse tems and conditions than before.
Where is the time to Prep D2D in that officialy was meant to be given ?You get 5 lots of d2d takes time prepping.

Please do not keep blameing DOMS either .They are under so much pressure its untrue.
IF they are honest and tell the DSM they cannot make any more savings they get moved sideways or below to a little office in the middle of nowwhere.
If the DOM chooses the 2nd route ,trys to cover things up makes false declarations then they get sacked .
Both these cases are fact .

I don't understand why your post is to 'CWU Chiefs'. This lays in the hands of Moya/Brydon downwards. It is also down to your office to stick together and do the job by the book ie start/finish on time, take your full breaks, use your trolleys etc. If you can't get done in time take it back, you all have to stick together on this to make sure no one is being dragged in the office alone and being bullied. Everyone who is in the union is the union and should be doing their bit. Just because you pay £3+ fees a week does'nt mean everything will be done for you.

yes if it cant be done cut off when times up . they could give you 3000 houses but you wouldnt be able to do them

As I recall the union said that the 3.5 hour delivery was no longer and deliveries could be any length as an enabler to facilitate the revisions - so what argument are you going to use against a geo route revision that says a delivery will be 4.5 hours/5 hours or 5.5 hours.

Are we still a national union or are we now 1600 local unions?
I wouldn't mind but £28million of members hard-earned money is going somewhere,£8million in salaries and pension benefits alone to national officers and various ancillaries and even more in Branch rebates to keep the coffee and full-time release flowing and to be honest i'm struggling to see the justification for most of it any more.
If it's going to be all down to us i think some serious trimming at the top end is in order,not just the token effort that's going on just now but a real look at how much a membership that is basically left to fight it's own battles needs such a top heavy union structure.
If it just comes down to copy&pasting a few LTB's and repackaging what RM wants in a slightly more palatable form for the membership to accept it...i think we could manage that ourselves without the expense.

It's getting more and more local union than a national one. Despite numerous requests we ain't seen our area rep for months. Guess they will make an appearance when it's election time. In 25 years of being in the union I have never seen so many people leave it over the last couple of years and a lot of members who are still in very frustrated by the lack of support or help these days.

revision is on hold but we were(are?) going to 4.5 hour deliveries in our office

I think that headquarters have introduced the Localism Bill. Leave all the flak to be dealt with at grass roots. Problem is that our last rep is now a manager and the new one is probably heading in the same direction. So what chance do we have unless Mr Ward and co start getting their hands really dirty.
