Will i get overtime pay as i just did my first walk on my hour - but over 2 hours over time - I went back to the office becuse i had a parcel and asked if i could apply for overtime - they gave me a form and i fill in the require stuff (however this is apparently only a request?)
So will i get over time pay since i started only last week! (saturday job only too)

this is why royal mail hiring guys like u.
It is not a request it is your right to claim overtime once u exceed ur contract hours. In the future if u dont want to do OT then inform the managers before u pack the bundles on the frame that u cant do overtime so allot mail to u acordingly . Also ask what to do if mail is left after ur duty end time.
Plus, u get paid break so calculate OT which includes ur break time if u dont take any break at all.
BTW make sure to take note of overtime & match it on payslip next week.

Well in my opinion if it's the first time you have done a duty on your own then they have to expect you to go over and should have no reason not to pay you the time you worked..... However in honesty they will expect you to speed up and pressure you to do so, and being Sat only your not in the best position to be banging your drum but don't forget you have a right to be treated fairly.....

As from today i'm no longer working past my time. Whats the point of forecasting overtime when the score you off the following day.

the thing is though, with new starters/rookies, when they put you on these 6 mnth rolling contract they expect you to do overtime/ext delivery etc, and some of them dont like the idea of you claiming o/t when you go over. and when you start refusing to extend or start leaving stuff in, then, when you,re contract is due for renewal they simply dont renew it. they,ve got you,s over a barrell. absolute cack deal for newbies these days,,,,sad to say.
