full time hours changed when?
Could anyone on here tell me when the full time hours went from 41 1/2 hours a week to 40 hours. Im trying to work out part time hours pro rata.

our fulltime week is now 39hours.. but you actually do over that if your a reserve as you dont get the benifits of having the longer days as day off, always get tuesday

Me about a million times wrote:Get a seniority list of the reserves.
Go down the list so they reserves get the pick of what duties are available for the next week.
They should then in the interest of fairness...
Have the day off of the duty they are covering,if it's 'Bobs' duty and it's a Sat off then they have that.If 'Bob' was on it he would have that day off wouldn't he!
Get some kind of aggregate list,that way you can keep an eye on who's had Sat's off,if some,even if they are low on seniority in the list have not had a Sat off for a while then they get priority.
It really is not hard to do,it's just lazyness on the managers and reps part.

Based on 7.5 days Monday and Tuesday - 8.5 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 7 hours on Saturday as a general rule
If Day off is Monday or Tuesday then Wed/Thu/Fri hours are reduced by 20 minutes each = 39 hours
If day off is Wed/Thu/Fri no adjustment is needed as it works out at 39 hours.
If day off is Saturday - then Wed/Thu/Fri are a 8 hour duties. = 39 hours
The drawback (as some see it) is that release time is different for different duties on Wed/Thu/Fri but the extra time is taken up by extended IPS for those on later release time. It does however mean if everyone sticks to their release times, and IPS schedule then delivery is still based on a maximum of 3.5 hours.
