A colleague had an accident while on duty just the other week. He was driving along the motorway behind a truck and a wheel came off the truck and hit the bonnet. He then lost control and went down a ditch, now lucky enough he's still here and not injured. He phoned one of the managers to explain what just happened and two questions were asked, one was...was there any mail in the van? and two is the van ok? Unbelievable!

I think like most us, we are too conscientious for our own good, I learned a long time ago how much they love you for putting yourself out for them, as in not a jot ! You won't get any thanks off them.

didnt seem too bad at the time and i thought i could handle it -rested all weekend - 1st thing on monday went in tried to deliver about a dozen tracked -after 3 realised that i couldnt spend a whole day getting in and out of the van -feck that i was in agony

if you have the opinion your manager is a w*******i have no doubt he probably thinks the same about you!!!!
that is the problem with our business..............too many people who are totally unreasonable......and it's not just the managers in my opinion.
if you don't like it then leave for a better career but judging by your level of replies i kind of think someone of your intellect probably won't have much of a choice in employment opportunities

Has it occured to you Rod147, that there could be a reason for Brandy's attitude?
If people are treated badly, it's only Human Nature for them to have a bad opinion of those who treat them that way. Luckily, I've not encountered a lot of Managers that I think badly of. Most, in my opinion are put under emense pressure from above, and that's the reason that they're unreasonable. Although, as in any other grade, there are some, who're just horrible people. There's 2 I've encountered, in particular, who I wouldn't p**s on if they were on fire! But that's just because of the way that they treat the staff. It's just a fact of life, that there are people like that. Regardless of their job or grade.

My ex dim was a nasty bit of work, but I kept away from his rants and bullying until my wife had a blood clot that ended up with her in hospital and having a heart attack. I asked for any leave paid or otherwise which was refused. He said he couldnt careless what problems i had getting child care etc, just suck it up pal I just went sick and faced the flak later. So caring management ? Nope. Can I call him names. Yes he was a prize prick.

exact same thing happened to me fractured ribs slipped in bath not a lot hospital can do ,went into work in some discomfort told my dom and he got me an htc trolley dropped off at the start of the round so i didnt have to carry bless frickin weeks that went on for
