Batch sorting

New system started by our manager where you only throw off a 1/3rd of the slots on inward sorting ie. 1 to 10 out of 40 to make you faster
Anyone else doing this.
Cant see how this is going to work because you have to leave 2/3rds on the bench for someone else to sort

When we throw off the mail into walks instead of sorting into 40 slots they are getting sorters to only sort 13 slots and throw the rest on the bench.
They think we will sort faster eventually by learning a 1/3 of it at a time and it will speed us up because he thinks we are slow

Is your manager a graduate by any chance? Does he actually have a clue? Any inkling of how this business works?
Just tell him to go have a cup of tea and a lie down.

DOMs are dickheads, all the mail will be sorted in the end so all that's happening is he's creating more work

I know in our office the trays from the mail centre cover 3 walks. And then some poor sod goes through the trays and splits it on the 3 covered walks. Maybe this is what is meant????
