Am I right in thinking that these heavy trolleys are supposed to be wheeled up on a ramp to the van to be taken out? We lift them between two postmen in our office.Due to the weight of a full one I would have thought this could be prime territory for slipped discs and hernias, neither of which I would want to have.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If accelerating HCT’s then they must be loaded/unloaded either using a
vehicle with a tail lift or via the approved ramp following the Safe System of Work (SSOW)

They do the same in my office. Two posties lift them normally into the back of a Vauxhall Combi van

Haven't used one for a while, used to lift them full to bursting into the vans, sometimes took 3 of us to do so. Was always a shortage of ramps.
I do wonder how much they actually weigh fully loaded. Must be 150kg+.

If I remember correctly then the HCT can be lifted into the back of a CDV but it requires 2 people and must be empty but that was a couple of years ago so it may have changed.
