39 Hour Working Week.....what's in it for PTers?

Hey guys,

This whole 39 hour working week doesn't apply to part timers obviously but they say well get an extra £6 in our pay (not even a full hour but whatever). Any idea if this is still on the cards or how much exactly we get extra?

When the f/t staff move to a 39hr week this is the equivalent of a 2.5% pay increase.
This is what the p/t staff will get.

I think you'll find it's 1/40 which is 2.5%

got my maths wrong there, actually did the maths right but didnt go all the way!

24/40=0.6
24/39=0.615

forgot to then multiply that by 347 (or whatever we're getting now)

On the positive side - you get a small pay rise for doing nothing different, while the full timer gets the same pay for the same amount of work but he has to do it in 39hrs instead of 40hrs .

It`s about time p/t got something. my office f/t are coming off sorting approx 30 before cut off time.therefore getting out earlier, therefore finishing earlier and still moaning they haven`t got time to do any absorbing. p lease I`m no good at maths but even I can work out that`s doing something for nothing oh look a lovely brick wall to bang my head against. And I thought the battle was against management not fellow workers. ohh no that`s that lovely place in the courier

Haha well our office now anyone who has a driving license has been told now they have to drive for RM or they will be sent to other offices. It's one big nightmare just in time for xmas.

As I understand it that should be part of the local agreement between CWU and Rep - However usually the 39Hour Week starts when the Walk Sequencing Revision is implemented.
