Delivering on their breaks

Hi Everyone, just thought I would let you know about this. I Have been off since Monday a few days I’m owed so Monday to Thursday was suitable for me, I went back today to be greeted by a customer and she said “how come you cant get the post here around 8 45 am like the other fella the last few days” I thought “she is off her trolley” till I bumped into another customer who said the same.
I went back to the office and asked about and apparently our break time is 8 20 to 9 am and I found out the tosser that was on mine worked through his break and went out delivering mail during his break, what can you do with idiots like that who are killing the job then came back early.
My question is when he has mail for the streets he has already delivered to does he go back ? Or what does he do with it? Its mind boggling…
Management should stop people delivering at this time…

Not a big deal through the week, but delivering shite till 2.45 on a Saturday is not really necessary.

Will never like starting later, much preferred the early starts - as I'm sure most customers would prefer mail dropping through their box early. But progress means later starts, f**k all I can do about it so just have to tolerate them.

I agree delivering to that time on a saturday is rough and would understand if we still worked a 6 day week but we do have a day off during the week to compensate.

But for wanting to start early just so customers can have 6 lots of d2d's and junk mail delivered early is just madness. If they are that desperate for mail early they can collect or pay to have delivered before a certain time. 99% of customers would not pay for that service, so there for they get it when they get it.

Yeah, same here. Whatever happens in the future, management will never convince either the workforce, or the general public, that getting post delivered in the afternoon in this, the 21st century, is a patch on getting your post delivered in the morning, as was the case during the 19th, and 20th, centuries.

How many of your customers on your walk have actually rang your office or have come down to complain that you have delivered too late? probably none. Our postal service is still one of the best in the world. This is the way it is now, stop living in the past.
