Courier - changes afoot?

In this latest courier there's an article on the front page continuing on p4 about leveling the playing field. The article specifically only talks about delivering to neighbors as a trial. Anyone know what are the other changes RM want that are apparently being discussed with the new regulator?

Thanks Wessex. Thats the postcomm stuff that is mentioned in the article. the article say these are just the start... What are the upcoming Ofcom changes referred to but not specified in the Courier? According to the article postcomm will cease regulating RM and Ofcom will begin doing so. Thanks.

A bit of a sting in the tail , post comm have now been replaced by off comm. The person in charge of the postal regualation actually worked for the NCU prior to the merger with the UCW. Yes there will be movement on DSA but the downside is they want to open up the bypass Market more so competitors can deliver to the door without the same standards as Royal Mail.

imo that will be good.
most fo the competitors wont have a full scale network and wont be delivering every day.

cant see how setting up even a small network could benfit them financially.

A small network in a big city perhaps, smaller towns and villages (and remote farms etc) no.

If they don't deliver to the same standards as RM then all hell will break loose, how many people whinge and whine about RM as it is, just think what it would be like without the same standards...

Chapter 1.8 says Special Delivery items can ONLY be handed to the addressee who must sign. This clearly is not happening.
