A good quote from our DOM this morning. After a fatal accident on the bypass yesterday the town was grid locked for hours causing many of our rural drivers to be back late. Most of us tried to claim between 40mins and a hr this morning as all the managers had gone home by the time we got back. The rural line manager went to the DOM to get the O/T sheet at which point the DOM said " I'm not paying them over time it wasn't a RM problem so why should we pay " . Even the line manager looked at his feet at that point and to be fair to him he did book all the O/T down , so i'll wait and see if it gets paid next week

i cant understand why people are letting royal mail get away with not paying overtime/excess delivery
where are the reps
do they not know the legislationon on the unlawful with holding of pay etc??
seems not
staff look up to us reps to sort these things out for them
ime gobsmacked
they tried this in my branch area, i sent the dsm an ultimatum that this policy would stop or an ET1 claim would be issued.
i do not get that many complaints now on this policy
if you dont stand up and say NO
they will keep on doing it
where are the reps
