Advice needed please...

I returned to work on Tuesday after being off for 3 weeks after having an emergency operation. This evening i've felt really uncomfortable and think I may have to visit doctor again in the morning. If the doctor signes me off again (backdates the note) will the absence to noted as just 1 or 2 separate? I haven't had a return to work as of yet and only been doing half a delivery for the 2 days i've been back (even tho my line manager is already pushing me to do more!)

If anyone could help, i'd appreciatie it very much.

It will be noted as two separate but connected absences.
This is a mitigating circumstance.
Your first absence will trigger a stage 1 absence interview.
All absences up to and including the day of the interview with the manager will be included in the overall review of absence for that stage and will not count towards the next stage of the procedure.
You should have been offered a referral to ATOS for a proper rehab plan after your surgery.
If you were not offered a referral this is also a mitigation.

I'm supposed to be having a return to work tomorrow (they never stick to it so could be next week!) If I visit the doctor in the morning and he signs me off where do I stand as I have done two days? Will the doc be able to backdate the note?
My rep has spoke to line manager to contact atos but not sure how far thats got.

Like fish says its 2 seperate absences its irrelevant what dr does. Unless you are issued a stage warning tonight, then when you finally come back to work when you and atos agree to it, then you will still only be on a Stage 1.

Get yout rep to postpone your stage interview until after you have seen ATOS . Your manager should ask you if you wish to speak to them in your RTW interview .
