I have an interview for CSS Supervisor soon. Has anyone been through the interview?

Yes. There was a couple of people, one being the DOM and the other a team leader from the CSS Management Team. It lasted about 30/40 minutes and was a real grilling on "What would you do if/when. Explain such and such. How would you handle a man management issue". It was early this year when I took it and it does go on suitability and seniority, but as there was only two of us who passed the test there was only two of us interviewed for two posts so it was a no brainer really. However I decided not to go forward with the machines after the training period.

You have to remember that people realise that it is not for them and drop out. At my place our team leader was almost begged to take the position. As with a lot of small teams, he does get his leg pulled.

Well i'm sure that if dvb knew there was going to be some "pulling" involved, he would have stuck around

I think it was the pulling that got me down, after all the devil finds work for idle hands.............I would imagine

I was interested to see Welsh as a written language, it does look poetic and quite foreign - who knows I may take that up if I retire as another language - how long would it take to learn I wonder - I may start watching the Welsh channel late at night to see if the chat up lines are the same

Thanks for that. During the original CSS interview there was a standard set of questions that had to be asked. These were agreed nationally I understand
Is this the same for the Supervisors role or is it just down to each DOM locally to ask whatever they want.

TBH I'm not too sure but the CSS Management bloke seemed to be working from script and I would imagine they would be standard questions across the whole of RM - it might be helpful if you could get a glimpse beforehand - maybe your area rep could squeeze some nuts for a photocopy from someone. If there are other machines in your area the DOM for that office would probably have the questions or at least have an inkling what they were. It may be that there are a number of questions and the CSS bloke decides which ones to ask because if they stuck to the same ones the first bloke in could pass on the gist to the other candidates.

Just be yourself and answer the best you can and good luck.
