hi i have not got my copy of the courier this month, is there any discount for royal mail colleagues when buying car insurance through the post office?

regarding Post Office car insurance,they told me they could beat ANY quote.
When they rung me back a day later after their quote I told them their quote of £320 was too high and told them I could get it cheaper at £185.
They said they couldnt match that and cut me off

nope am not with angard, have been a postie in waterlooville for just over a year now on 25 hour contract, i know this is irrelevant but ive been reading on here that people on 5 hr a day should be having 30 mins break? i dont know when i should be taking this as i get in around 9am and everyone is ready to go and they are basically pushing me out the door.

eastie i would love to pay 320 quid for my car insurance im 21 with 3 years no claims and looking at around 800-1000 shocking when ur on a 25 hr contract like me cant afford that lol

Use the comparison sites. 6 years no claims, nil excess, full comp, only £320. Astra SRI on 11 plate.

A few years ago we used a comparison website and the PO was cheapest. No discount though.

Regarding meal relief, some offices want staff to take their full break before going on delivery, some want you to take half and half and the rest hope you just forget about taking it altogether. With the backing of your union rep I would insist on taking at least half your break prior to going out on delivery, or all of it if you want. If they want you out earlier, bring you in earlier, it is their problem.

at waterlooville do if i even mention meal relief, people just laugh, i understand that they work a normal day starting at 6 everyday where i start at 9, when i do come in at 9 people are basically waiting on me to bag up so the bus can leave, also if i took half an hour out whilst on delivery i would never finish on time! take today i cut off at 13.45 to get on the van back, and informed my manager i had cut off and was met by a reply of are you f***ng joking, also told me to throw all the mail back into the frame which i said no i finished ten mins ago and they werent happy will prob get it in the ear tomorrow and i havent done any wrong! i worked through today with no meal break as i should of had.

i havent, i very rarely see him around, i think he covers most offices like portsmouth, cosham, havant and waterlooville, its very annoying as i know i have only been there just over a year but the managers do not take me seriously, im fed up of feeling guilty if i cant do overtime to get rid of the mail due to personal commitments away from work.

I don't get this our rep covers loads of offices thing,does that happen because various DO's do not have a rep?

Anyway,Boyle inform your manager about the 30mins break,and ffs have a word with your colleagues about the break thing and try to find out about contacting the rep.
