1 in 4 Saturdays off

Is this happening in offices where the revision has taken place? Talks on our revision are taking place at the moment and it's all supposed to start in January. The 1 in 4 Saturdays off seems to be causing problems. Half the office are adamant they want it and the other half aren't to bothered. Our union rep is happy for everything to stay the same because he keeps his cushy duty and has every Saturday off.

Stuff whatever anybody else thinks. The 1in4 was the MINIMUM standard agreed. RM would LOVE and will maybe even say (as they did in our office) that it was unachievable but that's their lookout. Have ended up with a nice mix of some 5 weeks on and one off; 1 in 3 Saturdays off (and RM did NOT like these one bit); Mon-Fri only duties; 1 Sat off in 2 and a few others. A general census of the feelings were taken in the office and then the CWU went away and worked on what they (the staff) wanted.

With longer duties you're going to want more weekends off.

ours is week 1......mon. week 2..... tues. week 3.....wed/thurs. week 4.....fri/sat, and monday, as you come to the start again. some have opted to work 6days a week for 3 weeks, then you are off on the fourth week. but its each individuals personal choice.

I have to agree a lot of delivery methods revisions have come in in our area with longer deliveries
longer saturdays and the only positives seems to be the 1 in 4 saturdays very popular with the membership

We ended up with a straight split half voted to stay the same?????? Half wanted extra saturdays off. After a lot of crap from the dom about saturday coverage and planners talking of half the workforce being part time due to the IWT we ended with half of us doing 2 in 6 which is the same duty patten as everyone else except you work 15mins more each day and get an extra saturday every 6th week.
Trouble is during the re pick many of "the stay the same mob" tried to jump ship and wanted 2 in 6 dutys. Cheeky f*****s!!!

Probably because they thought 'stay the same' meant they wouldn't be doing park and loop - same thing happened in our office until it was explained to them that they'd still be park and looping but only getting 1 in 6 Saturdays off.

It shouldn't have even had a vote, it's in the agreement and whether people want it or not we are entitled to it. It's in the agreement there should be no vote, peoplen think it's a choice, it's not, it's there in black and white. Tell your rep and dom that.

Two options of Duty sets in or office, both with 1 in 6 saturdays off. Rep says its best he could get. We aren't getting a say on whether we agree or a chance to throw them out, he's only giving us a vote on which of the two we want! Anyone know who to contact at Headquarters about this please?
