Vacant Duty

Question:

member of staff left 9 Months ago and created a vacancy in the office, went through a series of people signing for duty and resultant dutys, that was completed 8 months ago and we have now carried this vacancy for past 8 months, is there any part of any agreement which states when the resultant vacancy should be filled with a new member of staff? the duty has been covered with lapsing and ot for the past 8 months

Vacancy comes up

Reserve picks it up for 6 months,(this process avoids the "knock on process")

After 6 months it goes up for signing. A walk/drive should go up and seniority gets it.

Whoever gets it,then the duty he/she vacates the process starts again.

Which is in the way forward agreement...

ok get the bit about the process starting over after each move, we're at the end of the chain and the office now has a 24hour reserve post availible should this now be advertised externally as its been sitting vacant for 6 months, under the way forward agreement? (assuming no transfer ins waiting)

I would of thought so yes,it's a vacancy,are you due a revision soon though,they usually hold back because of that.
