sickness advice

Hi, my last day of work was wednesday last week, it was extremely heavy and since then i have had severe pain/discomfort in my back/shoulders, i was due to work saturday and rang in sick due to this, i have been off sick today also and been to the doctors/nurse who suggest i might need physio but they cannot directly put me forward for physio, and also suggested I go swimming 3 times a week lol.

What I want to know is when did the 7 days regarding a stage become applicable, ie I officially was not sick until saturday, I can see myself off for at least a couple more days. I have never had a stage or a bad history of being off sick. I'm also supposed to have 2 days off leave per week (24 hr contract), but I have got a colleague/friend to check my schedule and only shows me as having Thursday off.

Do my allocated days off become included in the length of sick absence?, did sunday count as a day sick?, also i believe (paranoia/cynic) that when/if I do return later in the week they would have changed my days off to the ones i have had on the sick, can they do this?

If i've read it right,your sick days are,Sat,Sun,Mon,and any other days you have after today.
Sun does count in this instance,your days of will count as well,unless you phone up to resume work before your days off kick in.
As for trying to change your days off,when are your official days off this week,are they permanent days off?

i was off sick one time and my day off was saturday that week -my manager phoned to ask when i would be back- i was off for the week -i said i would be back on the monday as we both knew my day off was the saturday - he included the saturday in my sickness - this extra day triggered a stage 2

So if you phone up on the Wed to report back to work on the Thur,your sick days will be,Sat,Sun,Mon,Tue and Wed.

I am still on the sick as different parts of my back/shoulder keeps playing up and worse than originally, I was going to go in on Wednesday and see if I could do light duties, i have now been told that i will need a doctors note and that my light duties will be 12 midnight till 7am. I do not wish to do nights at all tbh, can they force me to do this? My doctors waiting list is 2 weeks so how can i get a doctors note?

Doctors usually hold appointments back for insurance lines and emergencies. Ask for one of those appointments. If there's no light duties other than nightshift, if nightshift isn't suitable then go sick.

I totally hate the whole nights way of working, ive done it before and felt like a total zombie, the office is in an industrial estate 7 miles from me and no public transport would get me their at that time anyway. Ive been told i would be sorting overnight but with my back being knackered, I cant see how stood up for 7 hrs or sat on a stool with no back support will help at all. Another thing is my normal duty hours are 4 days at 6 hrs so dont know where 12pm-7am has come from as that's 7 hrs. Is their any documentation regarding how light duties can be implemented?

You need to get ATOS involved Tragic,who told you you had to do the 7hr nights,Dr DOM?
Your concerns should be looked at by them and something else sorted.

been to the doctor today, on light duties for a week, no heavy lifting and seating with at least a back support, now i dont have to do nights apparently.

push to get to see a physio from your doc or atos
get a report off of them and ATOS.

make sure they put on there what is wrong with you.
defo ask for all reports on the referral.
