managerial bullying

hello. have just been told today that a colleague has walked out after being challenged by the dom over his workrate. the dom was using unagreed rates and had the previous week used other unagreed methods to again determine that the individuals work rate was too slow.
he has been told constantly by the union rep that these work rates are unagreed but he just ignores this fact. any advice on what can be done both for the individual concerned and alsp to try and prevent it happening to others.

Some offices have walked out this, suggest the CWU registering a disagreement and at the same time work to rule, don't cover overtime, most especially don't cover the (walked out) Postman's walk if possible, 'don't do your days off, don't do anything to help them to cover up their mistakes ever, make them do some work for a change, let them sweat about coming into work for a change, for this to work the whole office have to stick to together and be reminded of the consequences of failure, you will have to play hard ball with this one.

Totally right that the Office will have to stick together over this NW but will they? There seems to be a very big problem over any sort of "Team Play" in this business nowadays! More likely that the Brown Nosers will look on this as an opportunity to grab some more overtime!

There does seem to be a Nationwide push from Managers to question the work rates of our colleagues..perhaps it's their latest tactic?

It seems to be mostly because these offices have a failing revision and the higher ups dont understand it and, scratching their heads announce it MUST be posties working too slowly.

at my office, the line manages are ok, all being long serving ex-psstie
the dom, being an outside hatchet man has learned his lesson so far, three diagreements so far and all upheld

now, our office has the plannes in at the moment and are on a totally different planet but i can deal with that so,
