removal of sa with no consultation/TM1 altered

Post by keithposty »

as stated

i came back into the office today and this was posted on the notice board

THIS IS GIVING 28 DAYS NOTICE THAT THE SA DUTIES ON A SATURDAY WILL CEASE

NO CONSULTATION, NOTHING

now i get out of that shock to find out these hours have been removed from the TM1 prior to any revision (TO BE CONFIRMED) for which the planners are in our office

i attend the weekly meetings

BEFORE I CONSIDER GOING INTO DISAGREEMENT ON THE TM1 ISSUE

is there a proceedure (agreement) in place BY ROYAL MAIL to follow when withdrawing sa duties

The scheduled attendance agreement states...if personal or business circumstances change undertakings may be terminated within the annual period by the giving of one months notice by either Royal Mail or the employee.

BUSINESS OR PERSONAL

BUT ROYAL MAIL MUST STILL JUSTIFY TO REMOVE SA BY A BUSINESS PLAN OR MANPOWER REASONS SURELY,

WHAT ABOUT TAKING THE HOURS OUT OF THE tm1 WITHOUT CONSULTATION ?

Personal for the employee.
Business for the business.
If they are cutting the SA then they are going to have to show you at the weekly resource meeting how they intend to cover that work.
Removing it entirely from the TM1 seems to point to the fact that they intend to absorb it.
It's a sneaky move considering you're in the middle of revision planning because you won't be credited with saving those hours through the revision...it will be as as if they've disappeared....and your manager will take the credit.

thats how i see it

he was talking about this six weeks ago and employing fixed term part timers to do the work of the sa

the real reason is these people that do sa will be able to do overtime on a sataday instead of the sa

useing the revision will be the lowest traffic figures

In nearly all of the national agreements there is a "reasonable or maintaining a level of earnings". SA is guaranteed OT unlike "unforeseen" OT. Now if they got rid of the Tuesday unforeseen OT or not,(or whatever). This surely should of been discussed in the resource meeting? I know you have been on leave, then perhaps the week before?

THE WHOLE PROBLEM HAS BEEN NO CONSULTATION

BE IT AT A RESOURCE MEETING OR NOT

MANAGERS/PLANNERS STILL THINK THEY CAN DO AND GET AWAY WITH THERE OWN THING WITH OUT UNION INVOLVEMENT

WELL NOT WITH ME AROUND
THEY WILL NOT DO THERE OWN THING

ill keep this thread going on how the revison is being introduced into our office

it seems the iwt has stated we can lose 17 rural and 5 town jobs (laugh out loud)

the iwt has also stated that a tray and a half of sequenced mail and 20 % of housholds can be throw off in 20 minutes between six and twenty past six.

mars calling jupiter

well these people are not from planet earth

fun times ahead it seems

:left: :left: :left: gotta love the IWT, did it say how many D2Ds that would be? (there's a formula for working out how many you're supposed to be able to do) but the sequenced mail can be thrown in in 20 minutes. :whistle

ll post up the formula, or lack of it later

But with an average of five lots of house holds, at 20 % a day

And sequenced mail in 20 minutes

Does not compute

Our average walk at the moment, pre revision is 750 delivery points

Reason: changed case - it didn't seem to be a subject that needed shouting about ;-)

i am afraid notice has been given , but i guess the works still their to be done . could be a good idea to look at 4 day attendance then work a full day off 8hrs for earnings , and still have a rest day. stand strong brother .

THANKS FOR LOOKING IN

MY STAGE 1 DISAGREEMENT WAS UPHELD AND THE PLANNER DID A GROVELING APPLOLOGY ABOUT REMOVING THE HOURS FROM THE TM1 WITH OUT CONSULTATION

STATUS QUO MAINTAINED UNTIL THEY IMPLEMENT THE REVISION

AND I MEAN WHEN

NOT YET ANYWAY

THEY STILL HAVE TWO MORE DISAGREEMENTS TO DEAL WITH YET (NOT AGREED PROCESSES)
