we had our revision imposed on us,dutys put up today for next week, reserves on 40hrs duty holders on 39hrs,management are saying because its not been signed off they can do this,surely this is discimination,anybody else got this problem

are we the first office to have the 2010 agreement introduced without agreement,we voted it out on wednesday rep went on sick friday and its in tuesday,manager said its signed off.we phoned area rep who says its not he sent an e mail to our manager stating there should be no change,managers totally ignored it and is pressing ahead.

I know this is wishful thinking, and we're probably getting bored with slagging the CWU down, but imagine how EVERYONE's situation could be improved if there was a change in attitude within the Union as a whole. If they could start to communicate with their members, push hard to get ALL POSTIES signed up and start getting the workforce recognised as a single entity!

Instead we've been "Divided" and it's only RM that's "Ruling"! Listen to posts on her: Part-Time v Full-Time.....Duty Holders v Reserves.....Temporary Contracts v Full Time Part Time.....Drivers v Cycle Duties It's no wonder RM find it so easy to walk over everyone at some point in time. I think it's pathetic that individuals need to struggle to protect themselves against Bullying Management, on their own, when they're let down by some Reps and the CWU in general.

I've found most RM Managers are sneaky bastards who always try and Bully Posties in "Private". We had a lot of individuals who were each talked to separately, and basically "Leaned On", giving each of them the impression "Well it must be me..I'm actually going slower than the rest"! When in fact it was just a "Whip Cracking" exercise. I don't know how these arseholes can face themselves in the mirror in the morning, probably because half of them are too scruffy to bother having a shave!

the old bullying tool RM managements only tool that and dishonesty , totally agree with every word a battle one day after another . xmas just around the corner no chance in our office this year , serves them right man management skills are zero

True but floaters and reserves have been left out on a limb by the union because if your expected to hit high performance standards when doing the same duty each day then a floater has to do that on 5 duties.The reserve is in even a tougher position.This is at its worst when a revision is implemented as the floater/ reserve is learning new duties but not given the same amount of time to get up to speed.

yes a rep can point this out to the DOM etc etc but there should have been something in black and white in the agreement that introduced the SDD and some extra resource time set aside for this in total office hours.

It's swings and round-abouts really. Yes it's harder to cover different duties but they are NOT expected to work to the same standard as duty holders... at least in my office!

No I doubt any duty holders would swap with reserves as they would lose thier only bonus, that of knowing what duty they are on from week to week. But then why should they go back to being a reserve, they were all reserves before they got a duty and have therefore served their time!

This is why I am so amazed when I see reserves moaning about how bad it is for them. Do they think the duty holders just turned up on thier first day and got a duty?

well the problem is that your argument of serving your time no longer applies when park and loop is introduced as this requires more drivers in the office.In my case I dont drive so once the revision in my office goes in there are 6 duties that I would normally be able to pick that I no longer can and I will probably get a reserve duty or flaoter if lucky.I have served 4 years longer than some below me in seniority who will get a duty because they can drive.....

bit of a difference between a reserve now and a reserve pre "agreement".
back then walk were shorter easier to learn etc.

now it can be a nightmare and your day off is more managed by office needs ....so long weekends are becoming rarer.

as regards to reserves doing 40 hours and duty holders doing 39......your dom is pulling a fast one.
he is treating you different and thats a clear case for b&h
