Post by oxon »

In the near future if later time starts then would the Night Shift in Delivery Office start later too? In Oxford management is considering changing time from 1030pm to midnight start!!

The idea is to get rid of ALL night shifts bar a few dodgy offices.

In Oxfordshire, there are about a dozen of delivery offices. Two delivery offices will carry some sort of night staff after the changes.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster, imagine on a fri night having a few pints b4 work or maybe not even making it all. :dance :dance :dance :dance :dance :dance

They are gradually scaling down nights moving cutting and tipping into mail centres and bringing in 4am starts on S.A.

Full time duties being replaced by overtime, not good for jobs not good for pensions and negative on wages.
my duty is 22.15-06.15 start sunday finish friday morning.as for moving the cutting and tipping into mail centres--we gave up 1 night duty (guy got evr) because we were told that our mail centre would take over the cutting and tipping and all packets would come in sleeves.guess what 50% of the work we get in at night still needs to be tipped,4 months we have told our dom this is happening and jacksh*t has been done about it!
