Great Yarmouth Sorting Office New DOM

Great Yarmouth Sorting Office has had a new DOM for the last 3 months. Morale in our office has gone from 6 foot under to 6 foot above ground and is slowly rising. This Dom,******* *********** has turned this office around and has got the staff behind him all the way and now we hear he has to re-apply for his job. WHY! I ask?
A manager like this must stay. Our office is now stable at last. Why try to fix something if it is not broken?
We get on with him, and he has got to know us and we are all working together in harmony.

i think thats why he has to re apply for his job,,,,,,,,i reckon the d.o.m`s are put in to cause the opposite,,higher up bosses want disgruntled workforce and people leaving,,,,i think it will be a big lump in a higher bosses throat that theres harmoney somewere.

How are they going to get people to leave if everyone's happy.....ROYAL FAIL want long term full-time staff out replace them with part-time posties on 3 month contracts.

Royal Mails idea of a "good manager" is the complete opposite of what a postie would regard as a good manager.

The best manager I've ever worked under was a smashing bloke, everyone liked him, the office ran smoothly and we were all willing to 'go the extra mile' for him when required... it didn't take Royal Mail long to find an excuse to bust him back down to OPG grade.

wacko is 100 % right here iam affraid.

Ive worked for dozens of doms over the years and the good ones have always been moved on and mostly been stiched up by the slimey doms who nearly all have been promoted

The only thing you can do is give lots of praise and high scores in the "have your say" survey but i doubt it will help much.

I once heard a a tosser of a dom talking to a good dom and asked how his revision had gone ? He replied "quite well everyone seems to be digging in and getting on with it" to this slimey said " you did not take enough hours out then, you need to squeeze them till they bleed". He was not joking either, he meant it.

Rumour has it that there are no good DOMs anywhere westwards of Great Yarmouth.

we had a good dom very fair ,but he got booted out to another office,then his replacement,well lets say alltered your ot to his benefit,when you took your wage slip to show him you was 2-3 hrs short his reply was i dont know how that happened,there are a few decent honest doms about,but there are a few as bent as a boomerang.

Trying to look at this from RM's POV I wonder how much of this is that if you have 2 offices one running really well the other not then wouldn't it be sensible (from RM's perspective) to move the good manager to the under performing office and hope that the 'culture' in the good office remains with the new (crappy) DOM?
