Park and Loop Problems:Salisbury and Sarisbury?

Heard some rumours from our MC driver today that Salisbury and Sarisbury Green are seriously in the cart after the heavy mail last week and their P&L revisions lots of due mail did not get delivered Saturday. Any one confirm or deny?

Don't know about Salisbury but Sarisbury Green (SO31) is buried under a mountain of mail and the "manager" who did the revision is unable to see the results of his handiwork as he is off sick with "stress" .

Salisbury has indeed gone down the shitter, last of the revision changes kicked in, massive increase in mail, mail coming back (sometimes a whole york), 1 shared duty for example got sent out with a total of 5 posties to cover it as it's stupidly massive, it's just been done all wrong.

Oh and we're losing managers like there's no tomorrow...That was, until we got about 10 new appear from all over the place "to fix us".

The planner and anyone leaning on them to make the puter say that round was doable by two in a van sounds like they need to be hung, drawn and quartered.

Basically Robtor described its essence. 1 Van & a group of posties all deliver in an area as a team. Its called star-burst because that's what happens - the posties burst out of the van and go in different directions to do their bit.

Its the big Brother (or Granddad) of Park and Loop.

Thanks for that and the other explanation posted too, although I imagine in reality nobody did any bursting anywhere. Was going to comment on one or two pitfalls I can see, but since I gave it a moments thought my mind is full of problems with it. Still, I bet it gave rise to some stories.

RM will not use the word Starburst, they call it large van park & loop (I kid you not) it's something they are looking at, were they can't get enough drivers or there are loads of blocks of flats.

They just keep Re-Inventing the wheel don't they? I expect that in the not too distant future we'll all be starting work at 0500 again, and everyone will be doing IPS until all the mail's been sorted!

We've had our Revision "Suspended"and only seem to have about 5 guys on IPS when there's about 10 others Double Prepping plus others on Prep and Delivery only. Needless to say one guy standing next to two Yorks Full of mail is not good for morale! Very Funny though when the Runners are straining to get out the door and they have to help out on IPS because they've run out of mail to throw off. What a bastard eh!

What pees me off when inward sorting is the runners who keep coming up and getting half a dozen letters every 5 minutes.
Then when you clear down ready to throw off your walk the runners and Overtime Kings are doing redi's and ready to bundle cos they dont have to sort as prepping round and OT
