30 Hour Contract, 4 Day Week?

Is this implemented anywhere? I'm thirty hours and I think next week I'm only doing four days.

Yep, been working this shift for most of the summer ... Mon and Tues off then 10am - 6pm Weds - Fri and 7.30 - 1.30 on Saturday ... Combination of part walks, parcels and collection.

Line manager says it gives him greater flexibility in his rota ( ? ) and suits me fine even though it's physically quite tiring to do a combination of roles ... Downside is on a wet day you can get soaked doing your part walk and you're then damp for the rest of the day.

Plus side is I finish at 1.30 on a Sat and then not in again until 10am Weds

We have a lot of four-dayers at our place, if that's what you're asking. 25-hour bods doing 6.15 hour days, drivers doing 10-hour days, 30-hour men doing 7.30 hour days. It doesn't really matter as long as you're doing the same number of hours. I've been on a four-day rota before covering fixed days off and it was fantastic.

I've noticed on the rota I have next Fri and Sat off. I thought it was a mistake but realised the 20 hour guys also have an extra day off. Quite excited about this, would love it!

I don't understand why this hasn't been communicated to you in your DO.
It must involve changes to your start and finish times.
If you are happy with that then fine ....but what if you weren't?

if you work wed to sat as your normal week what happens to BANK HOLIDAY payments ?.

we did the 6.15hrs a day 4 day week for about a year in 09/10.

i loved it, our days off worked like this....


week1, mon, tues off.

weeks2, weds, thurs off.

week3, fri, sat off then reverting to week one again giving a 5 day weekend every 3 weeks

worked really well until the new DOM arrived and put an immediate end to it!

as for bank holidays just the usual applies, if its your day out you get a day in lou.

Looks like this is the way forward for me, instead of 5 6 hour days, 5 7:30 days.

the 25 hour 3 day week is ok its 8 hours twenty a day every tues and wednesday off other day is floating they have been taking piss a bit with the fioating day but been ok.

Someone is on that in our office, but he works a fixed 3 days, weds, thurs, fri. Gets every sat, mon, tues off!

So what are your start and finish times?
