RIP...my old pouch box.

After 11 months of neglect the insult of me walking past with a trolley every day was too much for one of my old pouch boxes...i almost bought a bunch of flowers to lay beside it.
Question is does RM have a plan to remove the old boxes or will they all be left to pine/rot away?

Perhaps you could find a home for mine.
It pains me to see it lying there like that...we had some good times.
The time i opened it to find two days mail in it...the way you had to lean into it then turn the key....the frosty mornings it just wouldn't open...the times i took the skin off my knuckles...we've been through a lot.

That would last about 2 minutes around here with the amount of tat men coming round these days!

Round here they don't even wait for it to rust off its pole. They use a Car and tow them away at night

all the dog piss sure helps the rotting process
on a more serious note if i was a tenant or resident next to box i would be complaining to council street furniture as they call it is not in favour any more and the rotten sharp stump is also health hazard and therfore rm should be sorting this before the claims start coming in

I might only have been in the game for (nearly) 15 months ... but I too have developed an empathy for the proud and mighty "box on a stick" - on my regular walk I knew each box by name - since becoming a floater I've seen (and used) many , been unable to get into many, dreamt of spots where there SHOULD have been one ... and of course pointed these things out to Mrs RedBag and others when travelling the country (ooh look - red one/grey one etc etc)

Sorry for your loss ft! It's difficult to know what to say at times like this,but time's a great healer and if it's any consolation,it looks like your box probably went peacefully in the night and didn't suffer at all! Just try and remember the good times you spent together.

I'd love to know the process that RM go through to determine where to place these pouch boxe's, because for my walk it is placed in the most ridicules place you could think off, leaving me going back and forward to it three times, each time I am walking 100 yards.

I bet posties had no input into their positions on a walk, thats for sure.
